Jaala Williams – Fall 2015 Post Reflection (Chattanooga)

During the alternative break trip we came across a lot of obstacles as a group. Being that this was my first time camping, I did not have much experience in using a propane or making a tent. I wasn’t able to put much insight into those particular activities, but I do think I was able to help in other ways. I feel like I helped in the bonding experience. I was able to communicate efficiently with some of the other trip members, which was helpful for both parties. I’ve learned to be more of a team player and also a leader when need be. This trip was a big learning experience for myself. I learned physical activities such as making a fire and building a tent. I also learned mental activities such as tolerance and patience, that will help me in my future.
